Warranty Policy/Terms & Conditions of Sale
Please read all information contained on this page and if you don't understand any of the following points, then please ask one of the sales staff.
One Year Standard Parts and Labour Return to Base Hardware Warranty
The above limited warranty is subject but not limited to the conditions below
1. The warranty coverage applies only to computers operating under normal working conditions.
2. The warranty coverage does not apply to accidental or malicious damage.
3. Misuse of, and malicious damage to the computer will void all warranty conditions.
4. The warranty provides coverage for the goods in the original hardware and driver configurations and does not provide coverage for changes made by other parties other than Southern Computer Services computing staff.
5. The return to base warranty requires the return of the computer system and software provided to Southern Computer Services. Southern Computer Services is not responsible for costs associated with the transport of goods to, or from, the Southern Computer Services store.
6. Proof of Sale must be presented with all goods returned for warranty service. The warranty covers hardware only. The warranty, if any, on software is the responsibility of the software manufacturer. Southern Computer Services will gladly provide non-warranty software support if required for a fee.
8. The warranty coverage provides for parts and labour cost of repairing components. Service, repair or replacement of goods and components, where necessary, is at the discretion of Southern Computer Services. This warranty does not include a refund clause.
9. The warranty does not apply to peripherals as such as printers, scanners and monitors, which are covered by the manufacturer's warranty for each individual peripheral.
10. Unauthorized opening of a unit or manipulation resulting in a change to hardware configuration will invalidate the warranty.
11. For warranty service to be provided on a unit, the unit must be returned intact.
12. Warranty does NOT include training in the usage of software or hardware.
13. The downloading of files from the Internet resulting in damage to hardware and/or software will void all warranty.
14. We highly recommend the daily backup of important files to floppy, zip, tape or other media away from the operating system.
Limitation of Liability.
15. Southern Computer Services cannot be held responsible for any missing goods or damages incurred during transit.
16. No software is installed on purchase of computer system unless original operating system is purchased and paid for on the invoice. It is the responsibility of the computer owner to make sure that all software on his/her computer system is registered and licensed, and Southern Computer Services will not take any responsibility if this is not the case.
17. Title and ownership of the invoiced goods does not pass to the purchaser until paid for in full to Southern Computer Services. If payment is overdue Southern Computer Services shall be entitled to repossess goods belonging to it and to enter any premises, without notice for this purpose.
18. Southern Computer Services shall be entitled to recover from the purchaser all reasonable costs incurred in collecting debts which have become more than 30 days overdue including but not restricted to collection agency commissions and legal costs.
19. All warranty service on Peripherals, for example Printers, Scanners, Monitors, will be provided by the peripheral manufacture directly and not Southern Computer Services. You should send the warranty card found in the manufactures packing as soon as the hardware is set up to obtain your warranty on these items.
